In May I carved a new, smaller version of “Memoria” (Memoire), the sculpture I carved in larger form for the Puerto Vallarta International Sculpture Symposium (PVISS). The larger version was acquired by the Peter Gray Museum in February and is on display on the Museum’s grounds. This new version is 28″ x 12″ x 12″ (70 x 30 x 30 cm) and is carved of the same cantera limestone.
Coco, of Coco’s Kitchen, generously hosted the opening dinner for PVISS and I promised her a sculpture for the restaurant’s courtyard. It is also for sale….

A few photos from Garza Blanca Resort and Spa in Puerto Vallarta… all from the infinity pool where we were actually having a meeting (really!) re PVISS 2011 — beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, Los Arcos, Puerto Vallarta in the distance — a very special place….
…. another exhibition curated by Ruben Cham !
Lots of amazing art, some I can’t post ….. I like this painting by Jose Baldi…. the wine was good too…
Went with Ruben to the Malecon – we wanted to carve under the sails and tried to get approval from the City last year but elections, etc. and could get no answer. We went today and it looks like its a go!
Carole and Ruben and Dana
Huge selection of pastries everywhere and they look so good…. but always disappointing that they are are not really very sweet – at least not as sweet as at home. But they are beautiful. The chicken is wonderful — rotisserie, comes with hot peppers, potatoes, rice, hot sauce.
- only half as sweet as they look
- sort of tasty but even with filling, not so sweet
- Happy Dana — she knows the bread will be good — while I am still searching for something actually sweet
- trust me, none of these are really sweet…
- ah, but the pollo — delicioso !
